To Be Wise and LoveIt was about a ten minute walk to her parents' front door. The walk wasn't really necessary; she could have floo'd. Really, she could have apparated directly into the living room and no one would have minded. But she'd wanted to make sure she was well-composed, and more importantly, she wanted to at least go through the motions of requesting a place to stay. They'd take her back in a second, she knew, but it embarrassed her to assume they would.

Taking a last, calming breath, she knocked on the door.

This too, was unnecessary, and her parents would certainly find it strange. After a few short moments, her father opened the door.
